Mission

In spring 2022, Linda and Jonas Schilén moved from Stockholm to Åsby Gård in Södermanland where they will start the next chapter of their lives. We were asked to develop a content strategy to create a platform for Åsby. The target audience is gardening enthusiasts and those who dream of their own place in the countryside.

The package included creating branding and a graphic profile for Åsby with logo, fonts, color palette and graphic design for the films and thumbnails. We wanted to highlight the personal touch, so we chose a hand-drawn style for the logo and earthy colors inspired by the garden, farm animals and beer brewing.

The main topics of the channel were country life with gardening, renovation, animals and brewing.

Solution

We put together recording kits that work with smartphones and ran ‘Filming with your phone’ training in spring 2022. They film themselves and then send the material to us for editing. The ambition was to publish one episode per week during the summer. We follow Linda and Jonas’ projects and emotional life on the farm. They prune the fruit trees, dig the flower beds, restore stuff in the house, wallpapering while the chickens run away and the deer eat their own grown onions!

Most of the films are in diary format where Linda and Jonas film themselves and showcase various projects, but the plan was also to produce content about garden hacks and various projects from life on the farm.

The Result

Almost 100 films were produced during the year and the YouTube channel gained around 1,300 subscribers. The content has generated a lot of engagement. We also got two sponsors – Hörby bruk and ENWELL.
